Full course description

How can you ensure diversity and inclusion are truly a part of your workplace?

Promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace is all about human rights. At its core, this means that all people have the right to be treated equally at work with the same opportunities and privileges.

Not only is this the right thing for the employee, promoting diversity and inclusion can also have benefits for the employer, with many organisations now recognising that diverse teams are more productive and successful than homogenous ones.

This credential is the first in a series of three where you can discover how to bring these human rights into practice by exploring what diversity and inclusion means at a practical level and how you can embed them as part of your workplace culture.

The Essentials credential is an introduction to diversity and inclusion, and explores the reasons for the marginalisation and oppression of minority groups. It has an emphasis on examples from presenters’ lived experience. It also provides opportunities for you to take a critical look at your own workplace and consider how to implement changes that enable diversity and inclusion.

This course is discussion-based and provides plenty of opportunities for interaction with presenters and other participants.
